Rhipsalis phyllanthus Schumann in Martius, Flora bras, 298, 1890 and
Rhipsalis macrocarpa Miquel, Bull Sci Phys Nat Neerl. 49, 1838. were both treated as synonyms of Epiphyllum phyllanthus in B&R IV 187. 1923.
Apparently both were based on a Vellozo 1827 drawing of Cactus phyllanthus which shows a leaf-like stem plus, dare I say it a Rhipsalis-like flower!
